The Western Slope has plenty of events to attend any time of the year.  Now that we are nearing the end of summer, there are more events than ever!  If you like farmers markets or want to eat some fresh Palisade peaches you can enjoy them all this next weekend.  Here are some local events happening this weekend in August!

Head downtown to Main Street every Thursday from now until mid-September.  With an array of different vendors, you are likely to find something you’ve been looking for!  From local produce to handcrafted items, the options are endless! Enjoy sitting on the patio of one of the many restaurants on Main Street or take a stroll to see what the vendors have for sale.  Live music from local bands and Colorado art will please any visitor and make you want to attend every week! Come down this Thursday to enjoy some Western Slope fun!

A favorite time of the year in Grand Junction is peach season!  Everyone enjoys the large juicy peaches that come from Palisade and the Palisade Peach Festival is the perfect occasion to enjoy all things peach.  Starting this Thursday, they will have the annual ice cream social in downtown Palisade. Come enjoy ice cream, peaches, silent auction, live music, game station, and a street dance to kick off this years’ peach fest.  Starting Saturday, you can visit the Riverbend Park in southern Palisade for vendors, peach everything, and even live music! This is the 50th anniversary of the festival and is sure to be a hit as it has been every year before!  See a full list of events here:

The second Cheers to Public Lands Wildcat Trail Hike & Happy Hour is this Saturday starting at 10am.  Meeting at Edgewater Brewery and carpooling to the Wildcat Trailhead in the Uncompaghre National Forest, this is a great event for hikers and beer lovers alike!  Be ready to go at 10am at Edgewater Brewery located at 905 Struthers Avenue, then meeting at the trailhead around 11am. The hike is approximately 6 miles, so it will be filled with exercise, outdoor enjoyment, and a lot of sightseeing.  Enjoy the trail and then head back to the starting and ending point at Edgewater Brewery for their happy hour starting at 2pm. This is a wonderful way to enjoy the Western Slope and also support a local business. View their website for more information and also to RSVP if you are interested in joining:
