 "First Night Home" Box.

You’re tired, boxes are everywhere, & you can’t find the toilet paper. Been there, done that! Making a “First Night” box will save you the headache. In your First Night Box make sure to pack for yourself, your kids, pets, basic supplies & FOOD! For your family make sure to pack bedding, pajamas, work/school clothes, towels, a first aid kit & your kiddo’s favorite toy. Basic supplies should consist of toilet paper, hand soap, shower liner, toothbrush & toothpaste, scissors, cleaning supplies, trash bags, cellphone charger & pet food with water & food bowls. That evening it might be easiest to have a dinner takeout menu on hand just in case. Otherwise, cups, plates, paper towels, breakfast food, coffee & coffee maker are a must.

Before you run your dishwasher...

Prior to running the dishwasher for the first time with your dishes inside, I recommend placing a dishwasher safe cup filled with plain white vinegar on the top rack of the dishwasher. Using the hottest water available, run the dishwasher through a cycle. The vinegar will help to wash away the loose greasy grime, sanitize & help remove odor.

 Utilize colored duct tape.

For my last tip, use colored tape to rank importance of the things inside the box. I recommend using red duct tape on boxes with essential items to easily locate & unpack first.
