The RV park opened in the 50's and is located in the quaint little town of Lake City, Colorado which is snuggled in the San Juan Mountain Range in southwestern Colorado. Henson Creek RV Park, located on Henson Creek in scenic, downtown Lake City, Colorado just 54 miles drive from Gunnison, Colorado, has a main office building where guests check in, pick up their mail, shop for RV supplies, meet friends and other guests and adjoining the office is an enclosed game room, as well as a separate bathhouse and laundry room conveniently located in the middle of the park. The park offers 31 full service hookups. All RV sites come with water, sewer, 50 amp electricity and Wi-Fi. Located on an apx 1.5 acre lot within the town limits of Lake City, Henson Creek, a popular trout fishing river fronts the RV Park for approximately 350 ft with easy walking access along the banks to the water offering plenty of "beach front" for picnicking and evening campfires. Even though Lake City is an old mining town rich in mining history, there are lots of exciting and fun things to do. Choose between backpacking, boating, camping, horseback riding... the list is endless!! There is a diverse selection of retail shops and restaurants in the town square which is just a short walk over the bridge from the RV Park and savory places to dine after a long day of mountain excursions. Nearby there is the Alpine Loop and Silver Thread Scenic and Historic Byways. A favorite of hikers are the five "Fourteeners", which are among Colorado's highest mountains over 14,000 feet. Lake San Cristobal, a great place for fishing, is the second largest natural lake in Colorado and is an easy drive only three miles south of Lake City.
